Beauty is an art, and like all great art, it requires patience, expertise, and a delicate touch. Facial balancing transcends traditional aesthetics by considering the face as a harmonious whole. Rather than focusing on isolated features, our expert practitioners carefully assess the intricacies of your facial structure. By applying precise, millimeter-level adjustments, our goal is to enhance your natural beauty by accentuating your unique characteristics.
If you're new to facial balancing, you might be wondering what to expect and how to prepare for your first appointment. Today we’re sharing the dos and don'ts to help better prepare you and make the most of your experience.

Essential DOs:
DO set up your online patient portal
Before your appointment, kindly take a moment to review and complete the necessary health forms, accessible through your Remedly account.
DO Prioritize Skin Health
In the months leading up to your appointment, stay well-hydrated and implement a medical grade skincare line such as ZO SkinHealth into your daily routine (you may contact our office for your customized recommendation).
DO Begin Taking Arnica Tablets
We recommend taking 3 arnica pills, 3 times a day, for 3 days prior to your appointment. We carry these in-office or you may find them at your local health food store. Taking these prior to your appointment will greatly reduce bruising and swelling.
DO Come with a Clean Face
Please arrive at your appointment free of makeup and skincare products. This will allow us to accurately assess your skin to provide the best possible treatment.
DO Dress Comfortably
We suggest wearing loose-fitting, relaxed clothing on the day of your appointment. Please avoid turtle neck style collared shirts so we may give a full assessment of neck, chest and décolleté.
DO Ask Questions
If you have any questions or concerns before or during the treatment, don't hesitate to ask. Feel free to share your skin concerns and goals with your practitioner. At the French NP, we are here to guide and support you.
DO Relax and Breathe Deeply
Facial balancing is a holistic treatment that combines physical and energetic techniques. Relax, breathe deeply, and let your practitioner work their magic. If you come with a playlist, we can even play your favorite music to help set the mood for a seamless appointment.
Important DON’Ts to remember:
DON’T Consume Alcohol or Blood Thinning Medications
As a precautionary measure, and to ensure the utmost bien-être (well-being) during your treatment, please abstain from alcohol and blood thinning medications for a few days prior to your appointment.
Before receiving treatment you should stop taking:
Aspirin and NSAIDs (unless medically necessary)
Fish oil supplements
Vitamin E Supplements
Garlic Supplements
Alcohol (48 hours before treatment)
DON’T Exfoliate or Wax Before your Appointment
Avoid exfoliating or waxing your skin for at least 24 hours before your appointment. This will help prevent any irritation or sensitivity.
DON’T Get Advanced Aesthetic Treatments Before your Appointment
Avoid aesthetic treatments from other medical spas in the months leading up to your appointment (injectables, chemical peels, etc). This helps to ensure we are working with a blank canvas and can more accurately diagnose and treat your needs.
DON’T Be Afraid to Speak Up
If you experience any discomfort or pain during the treatment, let your practitioner know. They can adjust the pressure or technique to ensure your comfort.
DON’T Exercise Immediately Afterwards
Avoid strenuous physical activity for 24-48 hours post-treatment. This helps minimize swelling and allows products to settle properly into their intended positions.
DON’T Rush the process
The results are seen instantaneously, although there may be some swelling, bruising, and redness for a few days. While you may see immediate benefits, it's essential to commit to a specially tailored treatment plan and maintain a consistent skincare routine for the “meilleur” (best) results. Your results will be fully settled after 3 weeks, with biostimulators beginning to show ongoing internal skin improvements within the months to come.
Post Treatment Care
Following your Facial Balancing appointment, maintain these simple but essential care instructions
Avoid over exposure to heat and sunlight, as they might increase swelling and bruising at the injection site.
Avoid steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, or any water source that could be unclean or excessive in temperature for one week.
Use a cold pack as needed to reduce swelling and redness at the injection site. Ice 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off, repeat as needed.
Consider incorporating a high potency arnica serum like our Eclat de Beauté Soothing Facial Serum or our Arnica Lip Gloss into your post-procedure care routine. Our formulas have 300% more arnica than anything available over the counter.
You may return to your skin care program after 24 hours. When cleansing your face or applying makeup, use gentle, sweeping motions to avoid excessive mobility of the area(s).
Temporary swelling and bruising may occur after dermal filler treatment, but will subside within a few days. Healing time varies from person to person, however, some may experience redness and swelling slightly longer than others. To alleviate discomfort, we recommend taking 600-800mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours.
Avoid wearing hats, headscarves and headbands for the first 24 hours after your appointment.
Enjoy foods like pineapple which are packed with bromelain and can actually help reduce swelling.
If your appointment includes under eye PRF EZ Gel or neurotoxins around the eye area, you may take a Claritin or Zyrtec everyday for 1 week to help aid with puffiness. You may also give some additional love to your undereye area by massaging arnica serum into the tissue.

Our facial balancing treatments are designed not to transform but to enhance; creating subtle improvements that leave others noticing your refreshed appearance without being able to pinpoint exactly what has changed. By following these simple dos and don'ts, you'll be able to relax, enjoy, and reap the benefits of your first facial balancing appointment. The French NP is here for you, feel free to communicate openly with us; don't hesitate to ask questions or share your concerns.
